I am an anxious doctor. Or at least I WAS an anxious doctor. After literally decades of suffering from intractable anxiety, and seeing over 50 different types of healers I found my way to heal my anxiety through very unconventional (for a medical doctor at least) means. In 2013 I was so anxious I considered suicide and a friend suggested I try LSD, and although that scared the crap out of me it showed me the path to healing. You don't have to do LSD to heal, I took it for you! I'm a medical doctor, neuroscientist and intuitive. (I know, common combination!) I found my way out and it is counterintuitive and very non conventional (but not scary!). I will show you the way out too, you just have to listen to me, dammit!

Why Did My Parents Make Me This Way? (And Can I Blame Them?)
Tuesday Aug 06, 2024
Tuesday Aug 06, 2024
In this episode I open up about how parenting can deeply affect our mental health, especially when it comes to toxic versus non-toxic styles.
I'll share some personal stories about my own battles with feelings of abandonment and engulfment, and why it's so crucial to understand the trauma that can be passed down through generations.
I'll also talk about how reconnecting with our inner child and practicing self-care can help us avoid falling into a victim mentality.
Plus, we'll get into the tough but necessary topic of setting boundaries with our parents while still keeping those important connections strong.
My hope is that these insights will help you break free from cycles of trauma and build healthier relationships with yourself and your parents.

Is Your Anxiety Rooted in Childhood Trauma?
Sunday Jul 28, 2024
Sunday Jul 28, 2024
In this episode, I'm diving deep into the nitty-gritty of anxiety.
Let me tell you, it's not just about your thoughts. There's a bigger picture here.
I'm talking about your body's built-in alarm system that's been going off since way back when. Things like abuse, loss, and feeling abandoned can really mess with that system.
I've been there myself, both as a doctor and as a guy who's struggled with anxiety.
Traditional treatments like CBT only scratch the surface.
We need to heal the whole you – mind and body. Let's talk about how to disarm that inner alarm and finally find some peace.
Thank you for listening and you can find me on IG: @theanxietymd if you have any questions.

But don’t worry, this isn’t just a doom and gloom session. I’ll share my perspective on how therapy and self-awareness can be powerful tools to break free from the cycle of addiction.

Understanding Anxiety in Men
Sunday Jul 07, 2024
Sunday Jul 07, 2024
Hey everyone, Dr. Russ Kennedy here! Today on the AnxietyRX Podcast, we're tackling a topic that's close to my heart: anxiety in men and boys.
We all see it, right? Guys seem to just bottle everything up. But here's the thing - anxiety doesn't discriminate! In this episode, I'm gonna explain why even though some guys might seem cool as a cucumber, they could be silently freaking out.
We're gonna unpack how society basically tells men to "toughen up" and "be a man", not exactly helpful advice when you're feeling anxious. We'll dig into why guys might be hesitant to reach out for help, and how these patterns often start when they're just young boys.
I'm gonna share some tips on how to build better support networks for the men in your life, and how to have real conversations that go beyond the usual "man up" routine.
This episode is a must-listen if you want to understand the men in your life better.
Thank you for listening and you can find me on IG: @theanxietymd if you have any questions.
